We are pleased to offer the new, innovative “Threadlift” procedure. Dr. Vargas is one of only a few physicians in the area to be specifically certified in this procedure. Threads are used for repositioning sagging cheeks, jowls and neck, and lifting sagging eyebrows. The thread sutures have catch points that are evenly spread apart. Once inserted under the skin, they are fixed in an umbrella-like fashion, and with tension create suspension that gently lifts sagging tissues of the brow, face and neck.
The procedure is quick and usually performed under local anesthesia. The actual length of time will depend on the number of threads used. In most cases, there is minimal discomfort, bruising and swelling. Ice compresses are recommended for the first 48 hours. Patients can usually return to work or normal activities in a few days to one week. Duration varies depending on the age of the patient, the degree of sagging, and the number of threads used. Additional threads may be added as needed. This can be done alone or in concert with other procedures, including botulinum toxin, dermal fillers, peels, lasers, and liposuction of the neck. The unique design of the contour threads allows a traditional facelift, browlift or neck procedure down the road if desired.
